Third Beach, Middletown 6/26/10

There were no waves today, but it was a beautiful beach day, so Connie and I went to Third Beach in Middletown. We parked at a privately owned beach called “Peabody’s”, run by some nice folks. Parking for the day was $20 because today was Saturday. It goes for $10 during the week.

It was a very calm spot for paddleboarding, which is allowed there. I paddled south from Peabody’s, past third beach, hugging the shoreline to the overlook from one of the hiking trails. It had to easily be a mile of paddling, and I tried to do it as quickly as I could. I wore my shorty, but I could have gotten away without it. I didn’t fall, but the water felt pretty warm anyway. I got a good workout. I could feel it in my abs and my feet during the evening.
